Love Story

One of my greatest blessings in life is my husband, Adam. He came into my life at just the perfect time...I can say it was truly perfect because it was totally God's timing. We met through mutual friends while attending K-State (Kansas State University--Manhattan, KS). When I met Adam, I had recently come out of a bad relationship and did not want a boyfriend. Well, Adam was a very patient and persistent man and went on to pursue my heart anyway. After 4 months of friendship, I realized that Adam was someone I wanted in my life for a long time (possibly forever--eek!), so we started officially dating.

(our first photo together...several months before dating began!)

We shared so many laughs during our time together at K-State. The first picture below was taken on Valentine's Day 2007, our first Valentine's together. Little did I know that later in the evening Adam would be serenading me with his guitar and singing my favorite song at the time, "18th Floor Balcony" by Blue October. One of the many moments Adam has completely swept me off my feet and definitely one to remember.

Over the next year and half, our relationship only got stronger and before we knew it we were having "the marriage talk" and taking a trip to look at engagement rings. We couldn't wait to spend the rest of our lives together! Adam proposed on May 12, 2008 on a very windy day in Manhattan and said the magical words that started it all, "Chelsie Nicole Unruh, will you spend the rest of your life with me?".

After 1 year and 1month of being engaged (and living in separate cities), the BIG day finally arrived!

Adam and I got married on June 12, 2009 in the K-State Gardens. It was the best day of my life, and we were able to share it with all of the people we hold dear to our hearts. There were many tears shed, laughs had, and so many forever memories made. As I think back on it, I can only describe it as being magical--a true dream-come-true wedding and the start of our forever.

And then we rode off into the sunset....OK, not really....we walked...

After the dream wedding, we honeymooned for a week in Cancun, Mexico where we got to go parsailing...something that had been on my bucket list!

After living on the Holste family farm for the summer, Adam took a job in Athletics at Air Force, and we moved to beautiful Colorado Springs, CO! What an amazing adventure!

One short year later, another job opportunity for Adam brought us back to our alma mater, K-State.

(January 2012--Cotton Bowl, Dallas Cowboys Stadium--K-State vs. Arkansas)

(July 2012--3 year anniversary vacation to Charleston, SC)

(January 2013--Tostitos Fiesta Bowl--K-State vs. Oregon)

(July 2013--family vacation to Estes Park)

That brings us to today! Adam and I are still in Manhattan, where it all began.

And now on to our next big adventure...
