Book Nook

Welcome to my Book Nook!

Adam and I are both book-lovers, though we certainly enjoy very different genres. I'm a fiction gal, and he is all non-fiction, especially when it comes to history. You couldn't get me to read a non-fiction history book unless there was something pretty major to sweeten the deal...like a month's supply of dark chocolate. This is where I'll be sharing our favorite reads, so if you're ever in need of a book suggestion, be sure to check back here! I'll update as often as I can.

The first book pick that I want to start with is a trilogy written by Francine Rivers, a well-known Christian author who has written so many classics. This trilogy is near the top of my all-time favorites list, and I know my dad would echo the same sentiment. I thought the historical fiction genre (set during the time of the Roman empire) would bait Adam into reading them, but he just isn't interested. The series gets better with each book (and after each one this seems impossible). As usual, I became very attached to the characters--Francine's storytelling abilities are incredible. The time that she takes to develop each character is something that I appreciate most about her writing. I found myself thinking of Hadassah, the main character, long after finishing the last book. Even though she is fictional, I found myself praying for faith like Hadassah's...a faith in God that was unwavering, even after being put through the fires of true tribulation.

Happy reading! Be sure to leave me a comment to let me know what you think!
